LAKE ARCO is a fresh water oasis with supernatural rock forms in the Name Desert. It is home to a diversity range of bird life, flora and fauna and a traditional farming community.
Lake Arco, named after its own sandstone arches, is home to many bird species including water birds, raptors, weavers and others.
The lake is located within a canyon, with abundant vegetation which includes beautiful water lilies.
The local Kimbundu people live around the lake, working on organised farmlands or fishing.
The views around the lake are simply magnificent. It also included amazing sandstone cliffs. They can be viewed from the foot paths leading up to the Arco Lake.
