Tsitsikamma is a breathtaking coastal region along South Africa’s Garden Route, where ancient forests, rugged cliffs and the crashing waters of the Indian Ocean come together. Unlike the dry landscapes that define much of Southern Africa, this corner of the region is lush, wild and deeply connected to the sea.
At the heart of Tsitsikamma is Storms River Mouth, where the river winds between towering cliffs before meeting the ocean. The famous suspension bridge stretches across the river, giving visitors sweeping views of the dramatic coastline and turquoise waters below.
Moving inland, the landscape changes from rocky shores to dense indigenous forests filled with towering trees and winding trails. Visitors can explore the area on foot or take part in activities such as kayaking, snorkelling and canopy tours.
