ONE of Botswana’s finest tourist attraction is the Chobe National Park. Inasmuch as you think you know this park well, I bet there are still things you don’t know.

1.Chobe National Park is divided into four different parts; the Savuti channel, Linyati wetlands, Serondella and Nogatsaa.

2. This area was used as trophy-hunting grounds before it became a national park.

3. The park that has the most elephants in all of Africa is the Chobe National Park. You can literally feel the ground shake as a large herd moves by.

4. To renew their wedding vows, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton married in secret at the Chobe National Park in 1975.

5. The only big animal that is not found in the park is Rhino.

6. Victoria Falls is only a ‘stone-throw’ drive from the park.

7. The Savute and Linyati parts of the park lack internet connection and there is no mobile network coverage.

Tell me what else I’m missing out.
